Navigating Challenges: A UX/UI Journey with Memora Events
Introduction
As the sole UX/UI Designer for Memora Events, I faced a series of unexpected challenges while working on their digital presence. Despite personnel changes and time constraints, our team's dedication and agility allowed us to create a functional and appealing "coming soon" page to meet the client's urgent needs. This case study explores the process and lessons learned from this intense, yet rewarding, project.
Pain Points
Personnel: We lost a designer and a developer mid-project.
Time: The client required a quick solution to showcase to potential customers.​​​​​​​
Process
Week 1: Initial Meetings
Met with the client to discuss goals and establish a timeline. Understanding their needs and expectations set the foundation for our work.
Week 2: Branding Integration
The client provided their branding assets. I converted all logos and symbols to vector format using Adobe Illustrator, ensuring scalability and consistency across the design.
Week 3: Adjusting to Changes
In the same week, a designer and developer left the team. Simultaneously, the client requested a shortened timeline.
Collaborated closely with the remaining developer to create a functional “coming soon” page with contact forms, providing a quick, interim solution.
Week 4: Design and Content Creation
Crafted the wireframes, finalized the user flow, and wrote the website copy. This phase involved intense multitasking to cover both design and content needs.
Week 5: Testing and Refinement
Conducted user testing and gathered feedback. Made final adjustments based on this feedback.
Held designer-developer reviews to ensure all elements were cohesive and functional.
Week 6: Launch
Successfully launched the "coming soon" page, meeting the client’s urgent need for a customer-facing presence.
Lessons Learned
Adaptability is Key: Design processes are not always linear. Being prepared for unforeseen changes is crucial.
